The 47th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) of 2018 took place in Marbella, Spain this weekend.
Azerbaijan Minister of Youth and Sport, Azad Rahimov, addressed the 47th EOC General Assembly, Marbella, Spain, on behalf of the EYOF 'Baku 2019' Organizing Committee.
With a speech dedicated to the preparation prior to the European Youth Olympic Games. The Minister said that six buildings in the Athletes village are considered to accommodate 3,600 athletes, emphasizing that athletes will compete in 10 sports, such as athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, wrestling, swimming, tennis and volleyball.
The Azerbaijan Minister of Youth and Sport commented that competition will be held across 12 venues with 48 European countries confirming their participation in the festival.
The Minister also informed the EOC that volunteers will play a significant role, adding that 2,500 people will be involved in the preparation for the festival.

The opening ceremony of the Baku-2019 will be held on July 21 at the Baku Crystal Hall.
